Choose your language: The Gospel of The Lord Jesus ChristThank you for taking a moment in reading this. As you know, the word “Gospel” is a very familiar word used among a variety of people. The word means “good news.” That leads us to a question of what is this “good news” about the Lord Jesus Christ. I will give you the Bible’s definition of what the Gospel is, but first remember that there are three parts to it. (Not two, and not four) Here it is in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
Notice the three vital parts of the Gospel: 1. Christ died. 2. Christ was buried. 3. Christ rose again.
I bring this to your attention because the Bible says in Galatians 1:7: “…but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” Many people pervert the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in two ways: 1. Denying His resurrection. 2. Adding extra ordinances and good works that you must do in order to go to Heaven. This teaches that Christ died in vain. (See Galatians 3:21) Now why is this important that you have the true Gospel presented unto you? Because this same Gospel has the power to save your soul from Hell if you sincerely receive it. If you deny the resurrection of Christ, this is what 1 Corinthians 15:17 says to you: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Or, if you are someone that has a “head” knowledge of the Gospel and not a “heart” knowledge and trusting that you are a good person, remember that the Bible says we are all sinners. (See Romans 3:23) This is how you receive the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10) If the Holy Spirit is speaking to your heart right now, get somewhere where you can be alone with God immediately and by prayer admit you are a sinner and invite the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart and rely on His finished work He did for you to go to Heaven. Remember, there are two kinds of people in this world: The “whosoever wills” and the “whosoever won’ts.” If you received Christ as your Savior by reading this, please contact me whenever you can. I know if you were like me, you have a lot of questions concerning your new life in Christ. |
